Instructors can record their class lectures and slides with podcasting services provided by Educational Technology Services. Studies show podcasts improve lesson retention and allow for further review and study. Audio recordings and screencasts of class lectures are immediately available to students after class. Students can listen to the lectures on their favorite playback device and review lecture material at their own pace by adjusting playback speed and pausing the material.
All courses taught in general assignment classrooms have access to free podcasting and screencasting services through podcast.ucsd.edu.
To get started, request podcasting at http://podcast.ucsd.edu/Agreement. Wear and turn on the wireless microphone before lecture. Audio recording will automatically start and stop at the scheduled meeting time.
